5 Day Christmas at Luosto

Merging fantasy with reality, enjoy a magical Christmas in a picture postcard setting. Fir trees laden with crisp white snow, tireless husky dogs excitedly tugging at sleighs & snowmobiles speeding their way over icy tracks, all await you as we push the boundaries of your imagination for your Christmas holiday of a lifetime. Santa’s Special Elves will be there to help us in our search for the great man & the hard-working reindeer will help to guide the way.

Day 1. Following your arrival in Lapland, we transfer to the idyllic resort of Luosto. Here you will receive your hired snow suit & boots and settle into your chosen accommodation of traditional log cabin, hotel room or luxury villa. While away the evening with some tobogganing or enjoy a drink in the bar prior to the welcome dinner.

Day 2. Following a Finnish buffet breakfast, we embark on our Search for Santa. Todays great adventure begins with a combination of skidoos, husky and reindeer sleigh rides. Perhaps the mischievous elves will point our guides in the right direction as we search for Father Christmas’ home? After lunch we’ll resume our snow based activities. Will we find Santa today? No doubt he & his helpers may well be busy dispatching the thousands of presents in time for Christmas Day. Back in Luosto a delicious Finnish Christmas buffet dinner awaits.

Day 3. Oh joy of joy it’s Christmas Day! Early in the morning there will be an open air Christmas church service, illuminated by ice lanterns & log torches. This is a beautiful occasion, where everyone can join in and celebrate the true spirit of Christmas. Enjoy a hearty breakfast before we continue our search for Santa. Our furry friends & the snowmobiles will once again transport us until we discover the great man. Children will be mesmerised when they finally meet Father Christmas in the unique setting of his home & they will be thrilled to receive their special gift in person. Lunch will be provided at one of the outdoor locations & this evening a magnificent festive spread will be available including favourites such as mince pies & Chrismas pudding with fresh cream.

Day 4. Boxing Day is traditionally a day of rest in Lapland and while you can enjoy the facilities in resort, a range of activities will be available for you to enjoy at leisure including skidoo slalom competitions & tobogganing. Lunch will be served at the activity centre. If you would like to sample some skiing, equipment for slalom or cross-country skiing will be available (local charges apply). Or simply enjoy the spa & swimming pool facilities at the Luostotunturi Hotel. This evening enjoy a farewell dinner before it’s time to say goodbye to our magical winter wonderland.

Day 5. Enjoy a hearty buffet breakfast at the restaurant before participating in a choice of snow-based activities in resort. Will you be the tug of war champion today? If this robust competition is too much for you this morning, then why not enjoy some simple tobogganing instead. Lunch will be provided in Luosto, before we transfer to the airport for our return flight to the UK. There will be an opportunity to purchase a momento of your visit to Lapland prior to departure.
